Climate - The climate in Ghana is tropical. The east coast is warm and fairly dry; the southwest is hot and humid; and the north is hot and dry. The rainy seasons are, in the south, May-June and August-September; and in the north, the rainy seasons tend to merge. A dry, northeasterly wind, blows in January and February. Annual rainfall around the coastal area averages 83 centimeters (33 in.).
